Aim and Scope
The "Obshchaya Reanimatologiya" = “General Reanimatology” journal deals with critical care and emergency medicine problems including basic and clinical investigations in critical, terminal and postresucitational states, research studies of mechanisms of critical illness, advances in clinics, diagnosis and prophylaxis in reanimatology and critical care, organizational problems of intensive care medicine.
Russian and international publications in the field of anesthesiology and intensive care medicine and other specialties are welcomed for publication in the journal. Original articles and results of national and international basic and clinical investigations, reviews, case reports are published in the journal. Schedules of the city, regional, Russian and international medical meetings, official documents of these meetings are published in the journal.
The journal comes out once in two months. Its circulation is 3000 copies. The journal is circulated throughout the Russian Federation and the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Selected internationally recognized scientists from other countries are receiving the General Reanimatology journal from the Editorial Board.

Open Access Policy
«General Reanimatology» is an open access journal. All articles are made freely available to readers immediately upon publication.
Our open access policy is in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) definition - it means that articles have free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself.

Peer-Review
Peer-reviewing of research papers submitted to “General Reanimatology” journal
Articles submitted for publication in the "General Reanimatology" journal should be peer-reviewed by at least three reviewers.
The type of review is double-blind. Another type of peer review (single-blind, open, public) is possible if both authors and reviewers agree.
The reviewers should not have any scientific, financial or other relationship with the authors of the manuscript and the editorial board of the journal.
Peer review of manuscripts is performed on a voluntary basis and free of charge within a maximum of 12 working days from the date of passing stages 1 and 2 of the peer review process.
The review process is confidential. Reviewers are reminded that the manuscripts they receive are the intellectual property of the authors and are classified as confidential. Reviewers are not allowed to make copies of the manuscript for their own use. Breach of confidentiality is possible only in the case of allegations of unreliability or falsification of material.
The author of the reviewed article will be given the opportunity to read the text of the review.
The peer-reviews will be stored in the editorial office for 5 years.
Сopies of the peer-reviews may be sent to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation if requested.
The peer review process consists of the following stages:
- Examination of the manuscript by the Managing Editor of the Journal for compliance with the main requirements for publication approved by the Editorial Team of the Journal. This is done within a maximum of 4 working days after receipt of the manuscript by the Editorial Office.
- Review of the article for compliance with publication ethics, adequacy of statistical data analysis methods, and accuracy of references within 10 working days from the date of receipt of the article by the Editorial Office.
- Review of the English-language manuscript for quality of presentation of material in English within 15 working days from the date of receipt of the manuscript by the Scientific Editor and English Text Editor.
- External scientific peer review is performed by a specialist in the relevant field with at least a DSci degree. In exceptional cases, related to narrow professional issues in poorly researched areas, it is allowed to include an additional specialist with a PhD as a peer reviewer. The choice of the external reviewer is made by the Editor-in-Chief and/or his Deputies and specialists in the relevant field from the Editorial Board.
- The internal scientific review is carried out by specialists in the relevant field from the Editorial Board. The selection of an internal reviewer is made by the Editor-in-Chief and/or his/her Deputies.
- The article may be rejected before the review by the Editor-in-Chief and/or their Deputies if it does not correspond to the topics of the journal or has fundamental errors or low (less than 65%) originality of the text according to the results of the "anti-plagiarism" test, or for other significant reasons. Authors will be informed in writing about the reasons for the rejection of the manuscript before the review.
- Additional reviewers will be appointed
- when a conflict of interest between the reviewer and the authors is identified;
- in the case of a controversial review (presence of positive and negative reviews). At least two additional reviewers are assigned to a negative review (with the decision to reject the article). Additional reviewers are appointed by the Editor-in-Chief and/or their Deputies and specialists in the relevant field from the Editorial Board.
- Meta-review is performed by the Editor-in-Chief and/or their Deputies, with the possibility of involving a specialist in the relevant field from the Editorial Board, as well as an external specialist. A meta-review is performed if the additional review does not lead to a clear evaluation of the article.
- The decision on the results of the review will be made by the Editor-in-Chief and their Deputies, with the possibility of involving specialists in the relevant field from the Editorial Board. The decision will be based on the following points
- Inclusion of the article in the publication schedule / rejection of the article on the basis of significant comments of the reviewers, requiring revision of the material;
- Publication of the article on the website www.reanimatology.com under the section "ACCEPTED FOR PRINT/ONLINE FIRST";
- Linking the article to the specific issue of the journal.
The decision will be documented by the "Content plan of the "General Reanimatology" journal" and/or by the creation of the issue content in the Open Journal System elPub.
For rejected articles, a conclusion will be written with the reasons for rejection. Rejected articles will be placed in the Editorial archive on the elPub and/or on the Editorial office computer and will not be returned to the authors.
- Informing the authors about the results of the peer review:
- After receiving positive reviews, the article will be queued for publication according to the priority level determined individually for each article. A copy of the peer review will be provided to the author upon request (via e-mail: journal_or@mail.ru or the author's personal account on the journal's website www.reanimatology.com). The author has the possibility to receive information about the approximate dates of publication also on their request to the above-mentioned e-mail address.
- If the review is negative, the Editorial team will send a copy of the review and a rejection letter to the authors.
- If the review indicates a need for correction, the manuscript will be sent to the author for revision according to the reviewer's comments or for a well-reasoned (partial or complete) explanation and response to the reviewer. In this case, the date of submission will be the date of first receipt of the article by the Editorial Office.
- In case of disagreement with the reviewer's opinion, the author of the article has the right to submit a well-reasoned response to the Editorial Office. The article may be resubmitted to the Editorial Office for a second review or for approval.
- Articles that have been completed or revised by the author will be resubmitted for review.
Articles not accepted for publication include the following:
- those which do not meet the requirements for publication;
- those whose authors refuse technical revision of the article.
- those whose authors do not follow the constructive comments of the reviewers or do not refute them in a reasonable way.
Authors have the right to resubmit their articles to the Editorial Office after their revision, and these articles will be considered according to the standard procedure.
Publishing procedure for the General Reanimatology journal
- The articles included in the publication schedule will be submitted to the Scientific Editor. The scientific editor has the right to reduce the text of the article and make changes that do not affect the scientific essence of the article. If there are any questions about the text or illustrations of the article, the scientific editor will send a request for clarification to the authors.
- Edited articles will be sent for author or editorial translation of the full text into English/Russian. The editorial translation service will be coordinated with the authors.
- Articles ready for publication will be published on the journal website www.reanimatology.ru in the "ONLINE FIRST" section on a first-come, first-served basis.
- All scientific articles will be assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) number.
- Authors will be given the opportunity to review the layout of the article to confirm approval for publication.
- The Editor-in-Chief or Deputy Editor will authorize the printing of the Journal issue after the preliminary layout of the issue has been completed and before it is sent to the printing house.

Publishing Ethics
Ethical code of the “General Reanimatology” journal
All the submitted papers are peer-reviewed by minimal 2 reviewers considering the originality, research content and ethical matters.
The compliance with the international ethical standards is of great significance for the all parties: authors, editors, reviewers, publishers.
This code is based on the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publications of the Committee of publication ethics.
The obligations of the editorial board
1. A decision to accept the article for the submission.
1.1 The editorial board of the “General Reanimatology” journal is responsible for the scientific contents of the journal. This decision is based on the peer-reviews of the manuscripts.
1.2 The editorial board follows the publication code of the journal and the copyright legal issues. The editor-in-chief may include additional editors during the decision-making process.
2.Confidentiality
2.1. The members of the editorial office and reviewers are prohibited from disclaiming any information about the submitted paper and its content due to confidentiality (except the authors of the article, peer-reviewers, editorial members and publisher).
3. Disclosure and conflict of interests.
3.1. Non-published materials can not be used by the editorial office or the reviewers for a private use or for a transmission to a third party without a written author`s permission.
The obligations of the peer-reviewers
The peer-reviewers support the scientific editor in decision-making and support the author in improving the paper.
1. Confidentiality
1.1. The papers submitted to the editorial office are considered confidential matters. The submitted papers must not be disclosed to any third parties, except those confirmed by the editorial office.
2. Confirmation of information sources.
2.1 The papers published or to be published in other journals are not accepted. The description of any methods, scientific facts or discussions must be supported by the correct reference. The peer-reviewers are obliged to inform the editorial office about any plagiarism detected in the paper.
2.2 Peer-reviewers should identify non-referenced research work. Each earlier reported evidence should be accompanied by a reference. Peer-reviewer is obliged to report any plagiarism, multiple, excessive and competitive publications or double publications.
3. Disclosure and conflict of interests.
3.1 Any private information or ideas discussed during the peer-review are confidential and are matters of non-disclosure. The peer-reviewer is prohibited of reviewing the paper in case of any conflict of interest with any of the authors, industry or any other organizations related to the current paper.
The obligations of the authors
1. Originality of the data and plagiarism
1.1. The authors are obliged to guarantee the originality of the paper. Any data from the other papers or research works must be noted and referred to.
2. Access to data and its storage
2.1. The authors are obliged to present the data related to the current paper if possible. The authors must store the data related to the current paper as long as possible after the publication.
3. Multiple, excessive and competitive publications
3.1 Authors are prohibited from publishing the same papers or the papers describing the same data in multiple journals.
3.2 The submission of the same paper to multiple journals is unethical and unacceptable.
4. Confirmation of references
4.1 The authors are obliged to refer to the research papers they used during the preparation of the paper.
5. Authorship
5.1 The authorship of the paper must be limited to the persons who made a significant input into the concept, project, creation or interpretation of the data. Any other persons who made an input into some parts of the paper can be acknowledged.
5.2 The authors are obliged to guarantee that the list of the authors only contains people who made a significant input into the paper, and also that all the co-authors reviewed the paper, confirmed its final version and agreed to the publication.
6. Disclosure and conflict of interests.
6.1. All the authors and co-authors are obliged to disclose any financial or other conflict of interests, which may interfere with the results of the investigation.
7. Errors in the published papers
7.1 Authors are obliged to immediately address the editorial office in case of the detection of any errors or inaccuracies in the published paper.
Author fees
Publication in journal is free of charge for all the authors.
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in a reviewer’s own research without the express written consent of the author. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.
Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.
Plagiarism detection
“Obshchaya reanimatologiya" (General Reanimatology) use native russian-language plagiarism detection software Antiplagiat to screen the submissions. If plagiarism is identified, the COPE guidelines on plagiarism will be followed.
Preprint and postprint Policy
Prior to acceptance and publication in “Obshchaya reanimatologiya" (General Reanimatology), authors may make their submissions available as preprints on personal or public websites.
As part of submission process, authors are required to confirm that the submission has not been previously published, nor has been submitted. After a manuscript has been published in “Obshchaya reanimatologiya" (General Reanimatology) we suggest that the link to the article on journal's website is used when the article is shared on personal or public websites.
